Entrance requirements: This program
requires a 12th-grade level of reading and
candidates must meet at least one of the
following requirements:
Having a high
school diploma or GED equivalent, or
Level D Survey Form passing score 745.
Award upon completion: Diploma
The curriculum is a combination of two areas
of training: computer and customer service
training. The Microsoft office suite will
cover hardware and software word, excel,access,
and powerpoint. The course component
will provide participants with the necessary
tools needed to advance in the competitive
work environment. The program will prepare
the students in computer word processing,
spreadsheets, databases, presentations,
and applications. Participants will
receive training in workforce
interpersonal communications, resume
preparation working as a team, job search
and interviewing techniques. The customer
service aspect of the training is designed
to develop customer service and work place
skills such as interpersonal communications,
problem-solving and working as a member of a team. The
course will be given an overview of
applicable customer service techniques
applicable to a variety of industries, such
as, corporate or non-profit customer service
, retail, hospitality travel and tourism.
The course will cover principles of quality
customer service and public relations.
Students will gain the confidence needed to
make effective decisions and handle customer
complaints in any type of working
environment in a timely fashion. After the
students satisfactorily complete the
program, they will be proficient in the
Microsoft office suite and will be able to
type business correspondence—letters reports
invoices mail merges macros spreadsheets
powerpoint presentations and run queries in
access; and with the customer service the
student will be able to effectively
communicate articulate and apply the
necessary customer service skills as needed.
The program will complete within 11-12 weeks
totaling 214 hours from 9-4 pm during the
day. Students will be provided with job
placement assistance.
